Yes! I never played GoW before and pre-ordered the 2022 one. Loved every bit of it. While there is a few references you may not sympathize, the game generally does a good job of being friendly to newer players to the story imo.
I liked it that much I just had to buy the older games.

Aye you can although I'd recommend playing God of War three remastered kickoff, well that's what I did anyway to become a grip on some characters. Pretty sure it's gratuitous on PS Plus, it was but not sure if it still is.

And did it aid y'all when you started to play God Of War? (2018) I'm thinking about buying it from the PS store for ten$. Or should I merely start with GOW 2018?

I played the whole series, starting with the reboot will be fine. Its completely unlike and seperate in nearly ways. The only existent carry over is Kratos himself. Fifty-fifty the combat and gameplay is different. Great game, have fun.

The things kratos does in the reboot are all based upon the deportment he did in previous games.

I have not played whatsoever of the previous God of State of war games and I am thoroughly enjoying the 2022 version. Wonderful game so far.

I did just that. I usually don't like playing old games, so I actually don't mind jumping correct in fifty-fifty information technology's a sequel. If I am really interested in the backstory, I merely read up the plot of the previous games on Wikipedia.

Absolutely. Perchance information technology's just me though, GOW 2022 is my to the lowest degree favorite in the series. It's not the aforementioned kind of game as previous games in the franchise. The changes that was made to information technology seems like they were wanting new people to go into it more than than original fans. I only played 2018, simply watched videos on the old ones. I didn't care for it, simply other people love information technology
